What is Passion?
Are you passionate about anything in your life? What is being passionate about something even mean?
One way to know what it means is to consider what happens when you don’t have passion. It’s likely that if you are not passionate about something in your life, you’ll lack energy. Passion is energy. It is the energy we feel about a certain object, issue, or thing. The more passion you feel, the more positive energy you will feel and express.
Why Mom’s Lose Their Passion
As a mother, it is easy to get bogged down by all the stress and worry that is involved in being a parent. Let’s not forget all the whining. That can really knock us down a peg or two.
By the way, why is it that kids feel the need to whine about everything. For example, my youngest wanted me to help her get ready for school. Mind you, she hasn’t wanted help getting dressed for months. Apparently, that is beside the point. Today, she wanted my help. Here’s how the scenario went down.
L.O.: “Momma, help me get my clothes on.”
Me: “Okay,” I proceed to pick out a pair of panties for her to put on.
L.O. grabs the panties and tossed them down. “Not those. I don’t want those. I’ll pick them out.”
Me: “That’s fine. Pick out what you want to wear.” Then, I backed up to leave the room and let her get ready.
L.O. then yells: “I told you to help me.”
This exact conversation continued for her pants, shirt, and socks. That story blows. There went all my passion for the day. See how easy it happens?
You Need to Refill Your Passion
With endless opportunities for your children, work, significant others, friends, other family members, or the state of the world to knock you down, you must have things that will refill our passion. You need to find something that fulfills you and do it as often as possible. Through this passion, you will find the energy to jump out of bed each morning and look forward to the day. Everything you experience will be exciting, rewarding, and an event to look forward to doing. No matter how many people start whining.
Why You Need to Find Your Passion
Whether it is a job or a hobby, when you do something that you are passionate about, you lose track of time. You can’t wait to do it again. Furthermore, other people will be inspired by your positive energy and enthusiasm. What are you passionate about? If you are unhappy or unfulfilled by your current job or relationships, you will struggle to make it through each day.
It is not uncommon for a mother of a newborn to find herself in this position. All types of hormones, lack of sleep, and unfulfilled expectations can leave you depressed or living on autopilot. However, if your child has outgrown that stage, it is time to find a better solution. Don’t wait until your children are teens and have their own friends to wonder where life went. Staying a place of no energy is not only keeping your unhappy but stifling your potential.
Living a Life of Passion
When you have the courage to live a life of passion, you can express your desires and convictions. By feeling free enough to express these desires, you will be open to loving life. Through passion, you can overcome obstacles that are thrown in your path and have the confidence to live life to the fullest. Stop going through the motions.
Identify Your Passion
Take a moment to imagine what living a life of passion would feel like. What possibilities would be open to you? What dreams could you fulfill? Are you willing to discover what you love?
The first step is to discover what you are passionate about. Once you know what brings you passion, all you need is a little determination and some willingness to take a risk. We’ll get to that later.
Are you ready to stop feeling like you’re in a rut? Do those days you look forward to never live up to your imagination?
