Ignite Your Passion Spark
Now that you’ve identified those activities that you enjoy, its time to fit them into your life. This should be easy. Right?
It’s Hard to Get Started
When you don’t have passion in your life, it is hard to get started. This is true even when you know the activity will give you positive energy. For example, people know that it is good for them to exercise. Moreover, by exercising, people gain more energy. However, finding the energy to get off the sofa and exercise is not easy. That’s where the hard part comes in.
You’re Not Alone
Don’t feel alone if you are struggling to get up off the sofa. It is a normal occurrence when you’ve been stuck in a rut for a long period of time. Fortunately, once you figure out how to get started, the positive energy you receive from doing something you are passionate about will renew your spark.
Tools to Prime the Pump of Passion
There are some simple tools that you can incorporate into your daily life to prime the pump of passion. Once you’ve completed these tools, you’ll be energized to start living a life of passion.
1. You’re worthy of happiness.
After you’ve lived a passionless life for a long time, it is expected to feel blah, unhappy, or unfulfilled. Unfortunately, your inner voice begins to tell you that this is what life is. You need to settle for boring. In time, that voice tells you “blah” all you deserve. Before you can change how you feel, you must change how that inner voice “talks” to you. The inner voice in your head needs to tell you that you are worth of happiness and success.
2. Visualize your destination.
Imagery is another important facet of changing the mental image of your present and ultimately your future. Successful people, all over the world, have used visualization to achieve their goals. You can too. Imagine that you have a life of passion. Allow that visualized passion to excite you. When creating these visualizations, be specific. Who is there with you? What are you doing? How do you feel? What are you wearing? The more you visualize this scenario, the more positive energy you will encounter.
3. Don’t listen to the Debbie Downers.
If there are people in your life who are a negative influence, you need to ignore them. There are all kinds of negative people in the world. Regarding passion, these are the people who tell you that you can’t do something, you will fail, or that life isn’t about passion and happiness. These people are miserable. Furthermore, their negative energy sucks away your energy. The energy you desperately need to realize your passion in life. Instead, use their disbelief as a motivation.
4. Find a partner or mentor.
When striving to ignite your passion spark, it can be easier when you have a partner to go through the process with. A partner can encourage you when you lack motivation. Another option is to find a mentor. Someone who has achieved finding passion or is successful in the area you are passionate about can be an asset for you. Consider what characteristics and experiences you would want the person to have. Then, work to create a relationship with your ideal partner.
5. Focus on your goal.
Again, your goal is to ignite your passion spark. Always keep that in mind. When you lose your focus on the goal, you can lose momentum. It is important to keep this in mind. With focus, you can reach your goal quicker.
6. Use your strengths to your advantage.
When you focus on your strengths, everything you do is easier. It takes less energy to work with things that you are already proficient at. Use these strengths to your advantage. If your goal is to learn new skills or a new trade, that is fine. Fantastic. However, when you are low on energy and passion, it is better, to begin with something you are already good at doing. If you start with a skill that you aren’t good at before you have positive energy, you may give up. Once you’ve found your passion spark, then, you can begin to learn new skills.
