I’ve been where you are. I know what it’s like to be overwhelmed and exhausted. You put everything you have into everyone else. You get up at night to take your kiddo to pee because they’re scared of the dark. Then, you get up twice during the night with the baby.
Once the alarm rings, you don’t know what that sound means. It can’t be Monday. But, it is.
Once you get everyone dressed, lunches made, and medications are taken, you head out the door to work.
By the way, why is it your husband only gets himself ready? And, why does he frown when you’re late?
“Really? Why do you think I’m late? We’ve been waiting for you to get done for 10 minutes.”
Of course, you don’t say it out loud. You were taught, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”. It serves you well.
Once you’re at work, you sit down exhausted. Your only moments of peace. That is until your snarky co-worker comes in and starts complaining about another co-worker or talking about something that was on the news. You don’t care what that your co-worker is wearing the same shirt two days in a row. Let’s not even get into TV. You know you haven’t watched anything but cartoons for the last five years.
After putting in your eight hours, you leave for home while warding of sibling arguments. No one can explain how they can get along for hours, but you put them in a car together and they want to stab each other’s eyes out. Then, you cook, clean, and do the dishes. At least dad watches the kids during bath time.
We won’t get into the horrors of getting the kids to bed.
Passion and purpose? Who has time for that? You do. That’s who. It’s time to take control of your life and do something for yourself.
You’re taking care of everyone. And, rockin’ it by the way! However, you’ve forgotten to take care of yourself. It’s time. Take control back. Your kids and husband will respect you more when you put limits on your time. Don’t believe it? It is true. If you don’t value your time, they won’t. On the other hand, when you value your time, they will realize that time is valuable.
Furthermore, when you identify your purpose and live a passionate life, you will gain positive energy. This positive energy will re-invigorate you – putting overwhelm and exhaustion to rest once and for all.
Are you ready?
